National Wine Tasting in Chișinău: A Celebration of Taste and Traditions

Winemakers and wine enthusiasts from Moldova and other countries gathered this weekend in the center of Chișinău to take part in the XXIII National Wine Tasting event. The event was held under the new slogan – “Our wine is shockingly good,” reflecting pride in Moldova’s winemaking traditions and the high quality of its products.

Nearly 100 winemakers presented their latest products, including wines that have won awards at prestigious international competitions. Visitors had the chance to interact with the producers, receive recommendations on wine consumption, and attend workshops at the “Wine School,” where professional sommeliers shared secrets of tasting and food pairings.

Guests could immerse themselves in the atmosphere of Moldovan traditions by participating in craft workshops at the “Peasant's Courtyard,” discovering the art of pottery, wood carving, and weaving. At many wineries and cellars across the country, such as Chateau Cojușna, Mileștii Mici, Purcari, Cricova, and others, tours, tastings, lotteries, and entertainment events were organized, creating unforgettable experiences for visitors.

As in previous years, the stage at the Great National Assembly Square became the venue for performances by beloved artists such as Zdob și Zdub, DJ Markus, Cuibul, and others, creating a festive atmosphere for festival guests. The Wine Festival in Moldova, which first took place in 2002, has become one of the most anticipated events of the year.
